Basketball Game Preview: Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks vs. San Marin Mustangs

Tamalpais hasn't had much luck against San Marin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the San Marin Mustangs at 6:00 p.m.

Tamalpais is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-41 heartbreaker at the hands of Bethel.

Meanwhile, San Marin strolled past Novato with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 40-23. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Hornets are ranked 478th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tamalpais' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for San Marin, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Tamalpais couldn't quite finish off San Marin in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 57-54. Thankfully for Tamalpais, Emma Rogers (who went 8 for 10 on her way to 18 points and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
