Soccer Game Preview: Esparto vs. Golden Sierra

The Esparto Spartans will challenge the Golden Sierra Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Golden Sierra will be up against a hot Esparto squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Esparto never let Highlands onto the board and left with a 4-0 win on Tuesday.

Esparto hit Highlands with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Yareli Segura (2), Sophia Lopez, and Denise Villegas.

Meanwhile, Golden Sierra waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 4-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Grizzlies have won by exactly four goals.

Golden Sierra's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six matchups. As for Esparto, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7-1 record this season.
