Softball Recap: Skutt Catholic Beats Norfolk for Their Fourth Straight Win

Skutt Catholic entered their tilt with Norfolk on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The SkyHawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.

McKinley Waller looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jenna Griffis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Madison Furlong was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Skutt Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Skutt Catholic's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Norfolk, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-16.

Skutt Catholic didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Columbus on the 27th. As for Norfolk, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-6 defeat against Standing Bear on the 27th.
