Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. San Marcos Knights

The Mt. Carmel Sundevils will take on the San Marcos Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Mt. Carmel lost to Valley Center on the road by a 66-51 margin.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Marcos). They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 85-6 victory over Ramona. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 29 points or more this season.

The win (which was San Marcos' third in a row) raised their record to 12-8. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.3 points per game. As for Mt. Carmel, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.

Mt. Carmel was taken down by San Marcos 80-46 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mt. Carmel was down 43-15.
