Basketball Game Preview: Lowell Cardinals vs. Jefferson Grizzlies

The Lowell Cardinals are taking a road trip to take on the Jefferson Grizzlies at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Lowell fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Washington on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 53-51. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 10-3 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Jefferson played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Westmoor 49-21. The Grizzlies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lowell, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-6.

Lowell strolled past Jefferson in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 52-36. Will Lowell repeat their success, or does Jefferson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
