Recap: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves
On Friday, Mountain Empire was the victim of a tough 39-18 defeat at the hands of San Jacinto Valley Academy. Mountain Empire has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Redhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carli McGhee, who scored 10 points. McGhee scored a full 55.6% of Mountain Empire's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Briance Yanez-Mejia was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Mountain Empire's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they pushed their record up to 1-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Mountain Empire will head out on the road to face off against West Shores at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. West Shores' defense has only allowed 13 points per game this season, so Mountain Empire's offense will have their work cut out for Mountain Empire. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they will face off against Borrego Springs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Borrego Springs is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
