Neodesha found their leader in sophomore Tayte Leck, who threw for 229 yards and three TDs. A healthy portion of that aerial production (89 yards to be exact) went to Camryn White, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Neodesha didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cole Ramey. Another thorn in Columbus' side was J'Vonte White, who picked up two sacks, made nine total tackles, and defended two passes.

Meanwhile, Fredonia/Elk Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 26-12 fall against Galena.

Neodesha will need to focus on slowing down Kayson Farr, one of several Fredonia/Elk Valley players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 90 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 75 yards. Another player making a difference was Brayden O'Leary, who threw for 217 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

Fredonia/Elk Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Neodesha, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
