Soccer Game Preview: Veterans vs. Loganville

The Veterans Warhawks will take on the Loganville Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Veterans will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Veterans had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Tift County on Thursday. The Warhawks put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 5-1 win. With that victory, Veterans brought their scoring average up to 2.6 goals per game.

They hit Tift County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brady Bourke (2), David Drake (2), and Camren Laris.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Loganville's offense. They came up short against Grayson on Friday, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Loganville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Grayson are ranked fifth).

Veterans pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those eight contests. As for Loganville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
