Soccer Game Preview: Urbandale vs. Ankeny Centennial

The Urbandale J-Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Urbandale's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Urbandale fell victim to Northwest and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of Wolves by a score of 1-0. Urbandale have struggled against Northwest recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Ankeny Centennial strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Ankeny Christian Academy. That's two games straight that Ankeny Centennial have won by just one goal.

Having lost for the first time this season, Urbandale fell to 3-1. As for Ankeny Centennial, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Urbandale came out on top in a nail-biter against Ankeny Centennial when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the J-Hawks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
