Basketball Game Preview: Aliso Niguel Wolverines vs. San Juan Hills Stallions

The Aliso Niguel Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the San Juan Hills Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Aliso Niguel was beaten by San Clemente 72-28. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Tritons are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, San Juan Hills posted their biggest win since December 14, 2024 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 68-44 margin over Dana Hills. The Stallions pushed the score to 60-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dolphins cut but never quite recovered from.

Aliso Niguel better keep an eye on Anna Shreeve. She was instrumental in San Juan Hills' win, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. That's the most assists Shreeve has posted since back in December of 2024. Adelyn Boberg was another key player, going 6 for 13 en route to 16 points.

Aliso Niguel has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for San Juan Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.

Aliso Niguel came up short against San Juan Hills when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 51-38. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Shreeve, who went 9 of 13 on her way to 20 points in addition to six boards and four steals.
