Arroyo is 1-7 against Mt. Eden since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dons will head out to challenge the Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. Arroyo will be strutting in after a victory while Mt. Eden will be coming in after a loss.
Arroyo is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Davis Sr.: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Dons blew the Blue Devils out of the water with a 48-6 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Dons had established a 36-point advantage.
Robert Mcgehee went supernova, picking up 95 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 37 yards and one touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble, making five total tackles, and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Arroyo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Arroyo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Joshua Dickerson, Michael Reynolds, Andrew Mendonca, and Mcgehee picked up one apiece. Dickerson has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last four times he's played. Another thorn in Davis Sr.'s side was Jason Cordova, who picked up 3.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles (6.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Mt. Eden lost a heartbreaker to Concord when they met back in September of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again last Friday. The Monarchs were beaten by the Bears 41-14. The Monarchs haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Arroyo now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mt. Eden, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Everything went Arroyo's way against Mt. Eden when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Arroyo made off with a 44-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
