Basketball Game Preview: Redwood Christian Eagles vs. Making Waves Academy Marlins

The Redwood Christian Eagles will challenge the Making Waves Academy Marlins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Making Waves Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Redwood Christian, who comes in off a win.

Redwood Christian saw some tournament action last Monday. They put the hurt on Elite with a sharp 38-15 win.

Redwood Christian found their leader in sophomore Lilliana Faumuina, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Faumuina has scored at least a third of Redwood Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Breanna Garcia, who posted nine points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Making Waves Academy's undefeated season came to an end after six games on Tuesday. They took a blow against College Prep, falling 46-16. The matchup marked the Marlins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Making Waves Academy fell to 6-1. As for Redwood Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Everything came up roses for Redwood Christian against Making Waves Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, as the team secured a 52-14 win.
