After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincoln, Buchholz was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Forest Wildcats a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Bobcats have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Buchholz got a great performance from Cohen Lafler as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Lafler a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Kai So was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Roen Kresak, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Buchholz kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
