Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Kell proved: they limited Southwest DeKalb to a paltry 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Brayden Rouse for the heroic effort on defense: he. Kell didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.8.
Kell's defense didn't let Braylon Carter, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Alex Jean, Michael Domanik, and Collin Davis, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Southwest DeKalb's side was Rouse, who made 18 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cartersville). They claimed a resounding 64-0 win over Warner Robins. The Hurricanes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by 24 points or more this season.
Cartersville's win came from a few key players Kell will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Braylon Hill, who rushed for 79 yards and three scores on only ten carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Nate Russell was another key player, throwing for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Cartersville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Tripp Chatmon led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Cartersville, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Madoxx Davis, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
