Softball Recap: Riceville Beats West Fork for Their Third Straight Win

Riceville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the West Fork Warhawks. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 6-2 win the Warhawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2024.

Riceville's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for West Fork, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riceville will challenge North Tama at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats are facing the Redhawks at the right time seeing as the Redhawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for West Fork, they will square off against Newman Catholic on Thursday.
