Softball Recap: Palisade Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Palisade barely beat Rampart the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 16-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Bulldogs have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Chloe Cummings made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Cummings was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, MacKenzie Gray was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. Jamyson Mancuso was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Palisade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rampart only posted an OBP of .200.

Palisade's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rampart, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Palisade has already played their next matchup, a 7-4 win against Heritage on the 26th. As for Rampart, they will square off against Fruita Monument at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
