Basketball Recap: Carmichaels Takes a Loss

Carmichaels was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 35-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets. The Mighty Mikes were probably out for revenge after losing 31-28 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Carmichaels lost, don't look at Ali Jacobs. Despite the final result, she posted six points.

Jefferson-Morgan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Wood, who earned ten points. Another player making a difference was Brelynn Wood, who had eight points.

Carmichaels' defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Jefferson-Morgan, with the win, they broke their 12-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-8.

Carmichaels will face off against Bentworth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bentworth has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Jefferson-Morgan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-29 loss against West Greene on the 30th.
