Football Recap: Central Heights Comes Up Short

Central Heights had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it six. They took a blow against the Bluestem Lions, falling 40-6. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Bluestem, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points over those games.

Logan Squier produced another solid effort rushing for 158 yards on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Coming up, Central Heights will be playing at home against West Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bluestem, they will venture away from home to face off against Eureka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tornadoes' defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
