Cathedral Prep is 8-2 against McDowell since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Ramblers will take on the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. Cathedral Prep will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Cathedral Prep made easy work of General McLane and carried off an 11-2 win. The Ramblers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Derick Friedman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Sam Ciukaj was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Davin Friedman was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Cathedral Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, McDowell earned a 6-2 victory over General McLane on Monday.
Andrew Samluk looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colton Orlando, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Maxwell Orsefskie also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Cathedral Prep's record is now 9-2. As for McDowell, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cathedral Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .356. However, it's not like McDowell struggles in that department as they've averaged .312. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cathedral Prep got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against McDowell by a conclusive 15-3 score. Do the Ramblers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
