Sacramento falls despite big games from Ariyah Garrison and La ne Dunn

Recap: Sacramento Dragons vs. El Camino Eagles

It was a good run, but the Sacramento Dragons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Camino. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sacramento of the 54-42 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

La ne Dunn and Ariyah Garrison certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Dunn dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds, while Garrison dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Dunn has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was E'Myiah Morris, who scored six points.

El Camino's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noelle Potratz, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and five assists. Potratz is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Calista Wold was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Sacramento's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for El Camino, their win bumped their record up to 15-13.

Sacramento will head out on the road to take on Escalon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sacramento will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 571st, while Escalon is ranked 163rd). As for El Camino, they will square off against Natomas at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
