Football Recap: Aztec Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Aztec lost against Miyamura back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers lost 46-21 to the Patriots. The Tigers were down 34-14 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Aztec still got an impressive performance from Lorenzo Lucero, who rushed for 130 yards and two TDs.

Carlos Garcia was a one-man wrecking crew For Miyamura. as he rushed for 149 yards and three scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Those 149 rushing yards gave Garcia a new career-high. Benjamin Vidales also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.

Aztec dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Miyamura, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Aztec will venture away from home to challenge Bayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Miyamura, they will host Bloomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
