Soccer Recap: Irvine Takes a Loss

Irvine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 5-0 to the San Pedro Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Vaqueros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 702nd, while the Pirates are ranked 13th).

Irvine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for San Pedro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-0-1.

Irvine will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Portola at 3:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for San Pedro, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Garden Grove on the 14th.
