Basketball Recap: Woodrow Wilson Comes Up Short

Woodrow Wilson lost against Lakewood last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Woodrow Wilson Bruins took a blow against the Lakewood Lancers, falling 58-26. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Lancers are ranked 133rd).

It was another big night for Nyemah King, who went 10 for 23 on her way to 23 points along with seven boards and six assists for Lakewood. The game was King's 22nd in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dionna Bradley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Woodrow Wilson and nudges their season record down to 9-11. As for Lakewood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-7.

Woodrow Wilson will square off against Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jordan will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Woodrow Wilson surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lakewood, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 96-12 victory against Compton on the 31st.
