Basketball Recap: Coleville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tournament Opponent last Saturday, Coleville came back down to earth. The Wolves had to suffer through a 57-26 loss at the hands of the Eureka Vandals. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Vandals: they've now lost five in a row.

Eureka found their leader in sophomore Anna Mckay, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 19 points and eight steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Mckay. Another player making a difference was Natalie Bliss, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 10 points along with eight boards and six steals.

Coleville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Eureka, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

Coleville has already played their next game, a 48-26 defeat against Wells on the 12th. As for Eureka, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-17 win against Tonopah on the 13th.
