Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Grove vs. Franklin

Pleasant Grove is 2-8 against Franklin since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pleasant Grove Eagles will host the Franklin Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Pleasant Grove is headed into Friday's following a draw, the team's first since December 11. They and Cosumnes Oaks finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw on Wednesday. The Eagles had to tread lightly for part of the game as Aubree Davis and Adalynn Alley were both handed yellow cards, which could explain the final result.

Meanwhile, Franklin had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Huskies a 5-0 shutout. Give the Wildcats' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Franklin's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those five contests. Pleasant Grove's draw gives them a new season record of 8-2-2.
