Cor Jesu Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-6 to the Marquette Mustangs. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Beau Belz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Chambers, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Cor Jesu Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Marquette, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Cor Jesu Academy has already played their next matchup, a 1-1 tie against Hillsboro on the 11th. Marquette has also already played their next game (against Windsor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
