Preview: Canyon Crest Academy Ravens vs. Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns
Canyon Crest Academy is 0-6 against the Longhorns since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens will look to defend their home court against the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns at 5:30 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Canyon Crest Academy came up short against the Panthers and fell 53-45. Canyon Crest Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Elena Colon, who scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thrisha Boopathi, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Rancho Buena Vista slipped by the Wildcats 1-0 on Tuesday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Rancho Buena Vista has scored all season.
Canyon Crest Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11. As for Rancho Buena Vista, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11.
Canyon Crest Academy was taken down by the Longhorns 71-30 in their previous matchup back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Canyon Crest Academy was down 40-16.
