Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Oak Grove Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 58-23 loss at the hands of the Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes. The Owls were down 44-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Cottonwood Classical Prep found their leader in sophomore Ryah Carlson, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points and seven steals. Carlson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Abby Dyer, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points and three steals.

Oak Grove Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-17.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls duke it out with the Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, they will square off against East Mountain at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
