Football Recap: McCluer Comes Up Short

McCluer and Cardinal Ritter College Prep squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but McCluer had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 78-0 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Lions are ranked 14th).

McCluer's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Cardinal Ritter College Prep, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

McCluer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cardinal Ritter College Prep, they will square off against Chaminade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Red Devils have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
