Baseball Recap: Lithia Springs Takes a Loss

Lithia Springs lost against Alexander back in March of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lithia Springs Lions lost 24-5 to the Alexander Cougars. The Lions' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Lithia Springs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Cooper, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. De'Rick Pittman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lithia Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Alexander, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.

While Lithia Springs had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
