Lincoln County waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Thomson Bulldogs. Considering the Red Devils have won three matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kylah Turner and Jaeda Henderson did most of the damage at the plate: Turner got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Henderson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Destiny Turner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Lincoln County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thomson struck out eight times.
Lincoln County's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Thomson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln County will head out to take on Washington-Wilkes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thomson, they will venture away from home to face off against Lakeside at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
