Madera had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 27-19 win over the Edison Tigers on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Coyotes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Edison's loss came despite strong showings from Keniyah Morgan and Laniece Walls. Morgan posted eight points, while Walls scored six points.

Madera has already played their next game, a 31-30 defeat against Sunnyside on the 22nd. As for Edison, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-29 loss against Roosevelt on the 22nd.
