Softball Recap: Alburnett Takes a Loss

Alburnett was the 8-4 winner over Durant when they last played one another back in June of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates fell 8-5 to the Wildcats on Friday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alburnett's loss dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Durant, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Alburnett wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-2 victory against North Linn on the 28th. As for Durant, they will be playing at home against West Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.9, the Comets 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
