Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Columbus Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes by a score of 10-7 on Friday. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

A big part of Nelsonville-York's victory came down to the chemistry between Cameron Sullivan and his top target Alec Thompson. Sullivan rushed for 56 yards while Thompson picked up 71 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most receiving yards Thompson has posted since back in September.

Columbus Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Nelsonville-York, the win keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Columbus Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nelsonville-York, they will head out on the road to square off against Wheelersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buckeyes will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.
