Softball Recap: Yutan-Mead Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Yutan-Mead came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Southern/Diller-Odell with a sharp 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Leah Thompson was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jenna Trent was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Yutan-Mead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.

Yutan-Mead's record now sits at 21-6. As for Southern/Diller-Odell, they dropped their record down to 6-19 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Yutan-Mead nor Southern/Diller-Odell have any future games scheduled.
