Basketball Recap: Springside Chestnut Hill Academy Comes Up Short

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy was the 49-42 winner over Hill School when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Springside Chestnut Hill Academy Blue Devils took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hill School Rams on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (61), the Blue Devils still had to take the loss.

Sammie Faella was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 12 boards for Hill School. Faella continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Soller, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Hill School, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy will take on Masterman in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on December 20th. As for Hill School, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 33-30 loss against Varsity Opponent on the 14th.
