Softball Game Preview: St. Clair Bulldogs vs. St. Pius X Lancers

St. Clair is 0-3 against St. Pius X since September of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. St. Clair has given up an average of 16.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Clair came up short against Fredericktown on Monday, falling 17-4.

Meanwhile, St. Pius X came up short against St. Charles West on Monday and fell 5-2.

Taylor Bean spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Michaela Quick made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

St. Clair's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for St. Pius X, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

St. Clair might still be hurting after the 11-3 loss they got from St. Pius X when the teams last played back in October of 2023. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
