Basketball Game Preview: College Park Falcons vs. Ygnacio Valley Wolves

College Park is on a five-game streak of home losses, Ygnacio Valley a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The College Park Falcons will welcome the Ygnacio Valley Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Thursday, College Park lost to Alhambra at home by a 56-37 margin. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 781st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 210th).

Meanwhile, Ygnacio Valley ended up a good deal behind Northgate on Thursday and lost 61-47.

College Park will have to contain Sa'Rye Starks as she made an impact in Ygnacio Valley's last game. She dropped a triple-double on 43 points, ten rebounds, and 15 steals. That was a full 91.5% of Ygnacio Valley's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Ygnacio Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for College Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.

Everything came up roses for College Park against Ygnacio Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 57-24 victory. Will College Park repeat their success, or does Ygnacio Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
