Basketball Game Preview: St. Patrick Fighting Irish vs. Stone Tomcats

The St. Patrick Fighting Irish are taking a road trip to square off against the Stone Tomcats at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. Patrick has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 18.

St. Patrick lost 52-27 to Bay last Friday.

Meanwhile, Stone scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 79-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Resurrection Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Tomcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Eagles are ranked 69th).

St. Patrick's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Stone, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

St. Patrick didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Stone in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 51-46 victory. Do the Fighting Irish have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tomcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
