Football Recap: Gloucester Comes Up Short

Gloucester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 54-6 loss at the hands of the Poquoson Islanders. The Dukes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-6.

Gloucester's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Poquoson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Looking ahead, Gloucester will be playing at home against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' defense has only allowed 6.4 points per game this season, so the Dukes' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Poquoson, they will square off against Warhill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Islanders 7, the Lions 14.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
