Volleyball Recap: Eastlake's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

Eastlake lost against Plano back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Falcons took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The match marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Alyssa Cortinas paced Eastlake's offense, picking up ten kills. Cortinas got some help from Genna Gandara and her 25 assists. Finally, Cortinas was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Plano found their leader in sophomore Bella Osborn, who had 21 digs and two assists. Osborn is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last nine games she's played dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Eastlake fell to 7-1. As for Plano, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Eastlake has already played their next game (against El Paso), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Plano also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Marcus.
