Monte Vista is 8-0-2 against Berkeley since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Monte Vista Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 2:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Monte Vista is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Carondelet on Thursday. Monte Vista took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carondelet. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Berkeley and Piedmont finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw on Thursday. The outcome might've been different if Allegra Hong hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited her ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Berkeley's goal came courtesy of Sophie Pomfret, who's now up to three this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Monte Vista and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1. Berkeley's draw gives them a new season record of 2-5-3.

Monte Vista beat Berkeley 2-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Does Monte Vista have another victory up their sleeve, or will Berkeley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
