Basketball Recap: Madelyn Weaver's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Boyertown over Great Valley

Boyertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Great Valley Patriots.

Boyertown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madelyn Weaver, who posted 14 points and five steals. That was a full 38.9% of Boyertown's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Rhian Harper was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Boyertown's record is now 4-7. As for Great Valley, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Boyertown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-8 win against Pottstown on the 7th. As for Great Valley, they will face off against Abington at 12:30 p.m. on January 11th.
