Basketball Game Preview: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Mississinewa Indians

The Tipton Blue Devils will face off against the Mississinewa Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tipton has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 4.

Tipton saw some tournament action last Saturday. They took a 50-33 bruising from Western. While the Blue Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 11-6 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Tipton had strong showings from Hollyn Wilson, who posted four points and nine boards, and Makayla Schinlaub, who put up eight points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Wilson a new career-high in assists (three).

Meanwhile, Mississinewa lost to Oak Hill on the road by a 42-23 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 60th).

Mississinewa has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Tipton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Tipton was dealt a bruising 64-21 defeat at the hands of Mississinewa in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mississinewa's Jaci Crick, who went 10 of 18 on her way to 28 points and three steals.
