Volleyball Recap: Rockford East Comes Up Short

Rockford East lost against Rockford Auburn back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The E-Rabs fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. While the E-Rabs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 25-21 in the first set.

Rockford East started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-16, 25-18.

J'Lynn Sims paced Rockford East's offense, picking up five kills. Sims got some help from Lexi Nelson and her ten assists. Nelson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Rockford East dropped their record down to 6-21-3 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Rockford Auburn, they moved to 7-20 with that victory, which also ended their eight-match losing streak.

Rockford East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Plano on the 27th. As for Rockford Auburn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Huntley on the 28th.
