Holcomb is a perfect 5-0 against Southwestern Heights since September of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Longhorns will welcome the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Holcomb is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Holcomb gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They managed a 20-14 win over Hugoton.
Cooper Cranston and Chasyn Cosner were among the main playmakers for Holcomb as the former rushed for 131 yards and one TD while picking up 7.7 yards per carry and the latter rushed for 106 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Holcomb was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 209 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Southwestern Heights lost 40-14 to Cimarron on Friday.
Although Southwestern Heights took the loss, they still got scores from Eilian Baeza and Jackson Stanfield.

Southwestern Heights has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Holcomb, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Holcomb has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 254 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Southwestern Heights, though, as they've been averaging only 41.3 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
