Softball Recap: Pueblo West Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Pueblo West unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palmer Ridge Bears on Wednesday. If the Cyclones were looking for revenge after losing 12-1 to the Bears when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pueblo West got a good showing from Marlee Baca, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Acelyn Duran was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Bella Gregory, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Pueblo West has already played their next game, a 10-3 win against Grandview on the 22nd. As for Palmer Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-4 victory against Severance on the 22nd.
