Softball Game Preview: Armuchee Indians vs. Haralson County Rebels

The Armuchee Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Haralson County Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Haralson County will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Armuchee extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. The Indians came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Fannin County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since August 9th.

Model typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Haralson County proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Blue Devils 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted against the Blue Devils since September 13, 2022.

Kirby Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Anna Lane Coy was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Leah Johnson also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Armuchee's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Haralson County, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Armuchee suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Haralson County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
