Football Game Preview: Jackson County Panthers vs. Glynn Academy Terrors

After each having a week off, the Jackson County Panthers and the Glynn Academy Terrors will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Jackson County is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

Jackson County is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Habersham Central: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Panthers blew the Raiders out of the water with a 53-6 final score. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Daylan Maxwell, who rushed for 237 yards and three scores while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Those 237 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jayson Lee was another key back, rushing for 69 yards and one TD on only six carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jackson County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Glynn Academy posted their closest win since September 13, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Greenbrier 16-13.

Jackson County's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Glynn Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
