Basketball Recap: Mountain View Academy Skates Past East Palo Alto Academy with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Mountain View Academy's strategy against East Palo Alto Academy on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mountain View Academy Mustangs blew the East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs out of the water with a 54-14 final score. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-13 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Audrey Mackey, who posted 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mackey has scored at least a third of Mountain View Academy's points. Leilani Wright was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

Despite the loss, East Palo Alto Academy still got an impressive performance from Perla Sanchez, who scored eight points.

With the win, Mountain View Academy broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Mountain View Academy will challenge Kehillah at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Kehillah has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they will square off against Apostles Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Palo Alto Academy is facing Apostles Lutheran at the right time seeing as Apostles Lutheran is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
